J L "Jake" Norfleet Gladewater " Services for J L "Jake" Norfleet, 86, of Gladewater, will be held on Friday, February 18, 2011, at 2 P.M. at Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Gordon Grammer officiating. Burial will be in Rock Springs Cemetery. Born on September 20, 1924, in Greenville, Texas, he entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 14, 2011. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II. He was a retired postmaster for the Gladewater United States Post Office. He was a member of the North Main and Gay Church of Christ. He is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law , Shannon and Stella Norfleet of Santa Cruz, California; and Mike and Debra Norfleet, of Hot Springs, Arkansas; 1 daughterand son-in-law, Pam and Johnny Pokorny of Baytown; 8 grandchildren, Chris Felder, Jonathan Pokorny, Craig Norfleet, Brett Norfleet, Shanna Norfleet, Sarah Norfleet, Shea Norfleet, and Cass Norfleet; 8 great-grandchildren, Ty, Nevaeh, Logan, Cooper, Conner, Erin, Payton, and Samantha; 2 brothers and sister-in-law, Boots Norfleet and Frank and Paulette Norfleet, both of Greenville; 4 sisters-in-law, Barbara Mackey, Wanda Allard, and Janie Smith, all of Gladewater,and Juanita Baird of Houston; and several nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Norfleet. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M. on Thursday, February 17, 2011, at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater.
