Hugh Peavy

Graveside services for Hugh Peavy, 76, of Big Sandy, Texas will be held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, January 28, 2017 at New Hope Cemetery in Upshur County, Texas with Reverend Danny Trimble officiating under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.

Mr. Peavy passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 in Big Sandy. He was born on February 1, 1940 in Jackson, Alabama to Martin and Mary White Peavy. Mr. Peavy was in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a broadcasting technician for Industrial Manufacturing Services and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He married Regina Martins Peavy on December 31, 1981.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Regina Peavy; sons, Sidney M.M. Peavy and Jonathan M.M. Peavy and his wife Kristina; sisters, Elizabeth Walker and Mary Rice; grandchildren, Laken, Emmalyn, Kylie and Jacob.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, John Sidney Peavy and Stephen Peavy.

No formal visitation will be held.
