Howard David Perry passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, in Arlington, Texas at the age of 92. He was born on December 13, 1932, in Chester, Pennsylvania to Howard and Carolyn (Cook) Perry.
Howard honorably served in the Army, an experience that instilled in him a sense of discipline and commitment that he carried throughout his life. He served with a strong sense of duty in his roles as Cook, Military Police, Expert Marksman and trained Sharpshooter. He was so proud to serve and retire from the United States Army. He was a wax attendant for Sun Oil Company in Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania for over 40 years, at one time being only one of three men who could run the entire Marcus Hook Plant. He had a strong and loyal work ethic. He took seriously his role of provider for his family.
Howard was an avid hunter and quite the experienced gunsmith. He took great joy in sharing that gift with friends and family. He loved music and Elvis was his hero, sharing his love for the Army. Howard had a beautiful singing voice and loved to listen to music in both his home and car.
He was a member of Chichester Baptist Church in Aston, Pennsylvania and New Hope Baptist Church in Diana, Texas. After moving to Texas, he became a member of the Ore City Masonic Lodge for a period of time as a means to meet people and serve the community.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Carolyn (Mom and Pop Perry); daughter, Carolyn Renee Perry; son, David James Perry; brother, James Perry and sister, Carolyn Perry Maloney.
Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Nelda Walters Perry; daughters, Kathleen Perry Juisti and Susan Perry McNeil; sister, Joyce Perry McLaughlin; along with 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on April 3, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at New Hope Baptist Church in Diana, Texas. A funeral service will follow, beginning at 11:00 AM at the same location. Interment will be held at Ore City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Chichester Baptist Church, Aston, Pennsylvania.
