Howard L. Swink

Memorial services for Howard L. Swink, 74, of Gilmer will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charles Johnson officiating. Mr. Swink passed away on Monday, August 25, 2014. Mr. Swink was born on March 19, 1940, in Perryton, Texas to Arthur Lewis Swink and Opal Marie Dear Swink. He received a BA in Agricultural Science and his auctioneer license. Mr. Swink married Linda Sue Yost on March 9, 1973, in Clayton, NM. He was a self-employed farmer, rancher and auctioneer before his retirement. Mr. and Mrs. Swink lived in the Upshur County area for 10 years and was a member of the Elks Club and of the Methodist faith. He is survived by his wife, Linda Swink of Gilmer; son, Todd Swink of Atlanta, GA.; daughters, Deanna Lawson of Denham Springs, LA., Sheryl McQuitty and husband Don of Longview, TX, Shelly Worden and husband, Dell of Calhoun, LA.; sister, Marge Weber and husband, David of Denver, CO.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Swink was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Donna Langolf and grandson, Kyle Comeaux. Honorary Pallbearers for his service will be Dell Worden, Jake Comeaux, Cody Comeaux, Don McQuitty, Josh Goodman, Bridget Comeaux., Brandon Sepulvado, Reagan Goodman, Rachel Hulsey, Maddie Worden, Addison McQuitty, Jaydin Hendershott, Bailee Comeaux, Eli Goodman and Isaiah Goodman. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations are made to the St. Jude"s Children"s Hospital, 501 ST. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
