Horace Wayne Gibson

Horace Wayne Gibson, 84, of Gladewater, Texas passed away on March 1, 2022. Horace was born on September 3, 1937 to Sidney and Essie Gibson in Shallowater, Texas.

Horace was known to always have a great sense of humor and kept everyone laughing with his jokes. Before his retirement in 2012 from STARR International he was a truck driver that relished in talking about his travels. He was known for his playful nature, love of doing puzzles and playing games with friends and family. Horace was a devoted husband to his beloved wife Bobbie Gibson over 47 years. He truly loved his family and friends and it showed in the smiles he shared.

Horace is survived by his wife, Bobbie Joyce Gibson; daughters, Darla Jorgensen and husband David, Rita Windham and husband Phillip; son, Doyle Gibson and wife Kelly; step-daughters, Patricia Wagner and husband Frank, Judy Roberts and husband Stanley, Maggie Davis and husband Ray; 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Horace was preceded in death by his parents Sidney and Essie Gibson; brothers, Jack Gibson and Billy Gibson; sisters, Barbara Dunham and Juanita Campbell and a grandchild.

Services for Horace Gibson are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater, Texas. There will be a visitation held on Friday, March 11, 2022 from 6-8 in the evening at Croley Funeral Home with a funeral service on Saturday, March 12, 2022, 11 in the morning at Croley Funeral Home Chapel, Gladewater, Texas.
