Henry "Chip" Schmidt III

Henry “Chip” Schmidt III, 61, of Big Sandy, TX passed away on November 27, 2022 in Tyler, TX. Chip was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 21, 1961.

Chip was a member of Summit Heights Church. He was known for his quick wit and color coordinated shirts and shoes. Chip was always helping anyone in need and known for his kind acts of service. He loved God, his daughter, his family and his dogs. His hobbies included fishing, woodworking, taking care of his truck, grilling and cooking. He was a fan of the Washington Redskins and enjoyed talking “smack” about the Philadelphia Eagles and their fans.

Chip is survived by his daughter Tesla Schmidt; brother, David Schmidt; sisters, Karen Weese, Nancy White and Donna Dickinson.

Chip is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Schmidt, Jr. and Leila Schmidt Nelson; and brother, Toney Schmidt.

Services will be held at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater, TX on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 2 o’clock in the afternoon.
