Helen Mae Whitaker

Helen Whitaker, 87, of Ore City, TX passed away on November 21, 2022. Helen was born on April 27, 1935 in Hayward, WI to Walter and Edna Grandis.

Helen was known to always have a smile and laughing. She was devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She dedicated her life to taking care of her family. Helen worked for Ore City School where she enjoyed each day to its fullest. She could be found in her favorite place, working in her yard raking, burning sticks or mowing the lawn.

Helen is survived by her children, Sandie Ramthun and husband Dale, Dale Whitaker, Kathy Figueredo and husband Eric, Scott Whitaker and wife Patsy, Steve Whitaker, Ron Whitaker, and Bobby Whitaker and wife Quindy; ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Edna Grandis; husband Leroy “Pete” Whitaker; and son, Mike Whitaker.

Private family memorial will be held at a later date.
