Harvey Antonie Smith, Jr. Gladewater -- Services for Harvey Antonie Smith, Jr., 83, of Gladewater, will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2011, at 10 A.M. at Clarksville City Baptist Church with Brother Roger Gage and Brother Cleatus Speed officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Upshur County. Born on August 14, 1928, in Lufkin, Texas, he died on Sunday, December 4, 2011. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II. On March 26, 1950, he married Boneta Steelman. On January 3, 1965, he was ordained into the Baptist ministry. Through the years he pastored several churches in the East Texas area. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Boneta Steelman Smith of Gladewater; sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Marlene Smith and James and Kathy Smith, all of Gladewater; daughter, Linda Coston of Hallsville; 10 grandchildren, Dennis Smith, Jr., Michelle Quilon, Vanessa Smith, Chairty Smith, Jamie Soto, James A. Smith, Shawna Bumbard, Bethany Ross, Lucas Mock, and Brent Black; 15 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters, Loucile Howell, Mary Andrews, Jo Ann Burns, Antoinette Parkerson, and Lala Fisher; and brother, Robert Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey A. Smith, Sr. and Lucille Smith; grandchildren, Brandy Smith and Jonathan Smith; and sister, Rosa Lee Sapp. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M. on Friday, December 9, 2011, at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater.
