Harry Don Ferguson, 79, formally of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, died March 19, 2019, at Christus Good Shepherd Hospital in Longview, Texas.
Harry was born March 12, 1940, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to Thomas Don and Agnes (Graham) Ferguson. He graduated from Western Military Academy in Alton, Illinois, in 1958, after which he served in the United States Army. He attended the University of Texas, Austin, and completed his degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science. He lived in Poplar Bluff most of his life. He was a real estate broker and owned "Ferguson Real Estate" until his retirement.
Harry had many varied interests. He loved to travel, was a voracious reader, collected coins and stamps, played table games with his grandchildren. Loved his country, and argued politics with all comers!!!
He was described as "the spark plug" of the Ferguson family.
Harry is survived by his children, Melissa (John) McGee of Gilmer, Texas, Jon (Kristin) Ferguson of Big Sandy, Texas and Jeffrey (Heather) Ferguson of Wheatland, Wyoming; seventeen grandchildren; by his sister Donna Ferguson (Jerry) White of Longview, Texas and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his son Thomas Don Ferguson, II.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 24, 2019, at Calvary Baptist Church in Gladewater, Texas with his son-in-law John McGee officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
