Harold Ray Maxwell was born December 10, 1950 in Gladewater to the late John Everett Maxwell and Mildred Nell White. He worked as a supervisor in the oil industry. Ray loved riding and training horses. He was always quick with a joke and was never in a bad mood. Ray was known as a “wheeler dealer” but was also very generous, giving, fair, honest and hard working. Ray enjoyed spending time with family and friends and eating Blue Bell ice cream. Ray will not soon be forgotten by those he leaves behind.
Ray is survived by his three children Michael Maxwell and wife Paula, Misti Swindell and husband Stephen and Colton Ray Maxwell; brother John E. Maxwell and wife Pat; sister Judith Marie Mills and husband Charles; two sisters-in-law Melba Maxwell and Martha Maxwell; five grandchildren Morgan Rockett, Macey Holt, Haden Holt, Landon Turner and Rayni Turner; great grandson Gunner Bledsoe; numerous nieces and nephews as well as many other loving family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers Travis Lynn Maxwell, Melvin Dean Maxwell and Walter Lewis “Buddy” Maxwell.
