Services for Harold Lee Roe, 85, of Big Sandy, Texas, will be held at Croley Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at 10:30 A.M. with Pastor Dave Havir and Brother C. Wayne Cole officiating and interment to follow at Hoover Cemetery. Harold Lee Roe was born on February 4, 1930, in Sedalia, Missouri to Thomas Lee and Eula Marie Roe. He served in the U.S. Navy, had a long career as a master electrician, holding membership in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for nearly 65 years, and farmed on the side. In the 1960s after becoming a member of the Church of God, he worked for the church's construction department in Missouri and Wisconsin. He then worked as chief electrician at Ambassador College " Big Sandy until 1995. He continued working through 2014. He enjoyed hard work, but made time for his family and loved them dearly. He will be greatly missed for his wisdom, kindness and humor. Harold is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Ruth Elaine (Buchholz) Roe, five children, Laura Lee Doane and husband Bob of Baltimore, Maryland; David W. Roe and wife Eva of Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany; Daniel K. Roe and fiancee Carol of Freeport, Texas; Lisa Roe Caudle of Auckland, New Zealand; and Timothy S. Roe of Big Sandy, Texas. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Brandon Roe, Steven Outram Jr., Michelle Roe Outram, Rachel Roe, Danielle Caudle, Gabrielle Caudle and Erin Roe, and six great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sisters Dorothy Lesch of St. Louis, Missouri and Linda Webb and husband Dick of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; nephews Keith Tuller, Mike Napier, nieces JoAnn Nisbet, Barbara Sue Napier, Tammy Gilmore and husband Len. He is preceded in death by his sister Myrtle Barnes, nephews Greg and Thomas and nieces Jean and Patty.
