Harold Anderson, Sr.

Funeral services for Harold Anderson, Sr., 74, of Winnsboro will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Bro. Donny Chamberlain officiating. Interment will follow at Grice Cemetery in Upshur County. Mr. Anderson passed away on Monday, April 27, 2015 in Winnsboro. He was born on November 29, 1940, in Gilmer, Texas, to Arthur Clyde Anderson and Doris Cross Anderson. Mr. Anderson served in the U. S. Air Force and was foreman for Arkansas Construction before his retirement. He was the Post Commander for the VFW and a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Mr. Anderson is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Kristy Anderson of Gilmer; daughters and sons-in-law, Dlorah Anderson of Winnsboro, Tina and Walt Johnson of Gilmer, Misti and Jason Barton of Gilmer; brothers, Robert and John Anderson; sisters, Judy Nations and Beverly Bryant; his longtime companion, Lorene Weems. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Shawn Shannon, Stephanie Shannon, Mark Johnson, Paul Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Megan Anderson, Hayden Anderson, Colten Brill, Caleb Anderson, Hunter Anderson, Caden Anderson, Trent Bishop and Trevor Bishop; eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Anderson was loved dearly and will be missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Doris Anderson. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
