Guy Arrington

Guy Arrington, Jr., 90, of Gilmer, passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021 in Gilmer, Texas. Graveside services for Mr. Arrington are scheduled for 10AM, Monday, April 19, 2021, at Enoch Cemetery.

Guy was born on April 19, 1930, to the late Lorenzo Guy Arrington and Addie Lou Walker Arrington. He was a lifetime resident of Upshur County and grew up in the Pritchett Community. He was a painter by trade and worked for Lone Star Steel Co., retiring after 30 years. He continued to work for H.M. Dodd Motor Company for several more years, until fully retiring at the age of 63. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Guy was preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo Guy and Addie Lou Arrington, brothers; Garland Arrington, Jack Arrington, sisters; Juanita Corley, Dorothy Rancilio and Fay Green.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Willie Mae Arrington, daughters; Frances Burney of Texarkana, Susie Bingham and husband Charles of Gilmer, Linda Studdard and husband Dwayne of Gilmer, Carolyn Morgan and husband Royce of Gilmer, son, Philip Arrington of Mt. Pleasant, grandchildren; Brian Gibbons of Texarkana, Adrian Gibbons of Temple, Larry Knowlton of Saratoga, Ark., Jonathan Knowlton and wife Adalinda of Marshall, Sabrina Williams and husband Richard of Gilmer, Jennifer Luster and husband Merle of Texarkana, Charlie Bless and wife Loren of Gilmer, and Stephen Crawford and wife Mindy of Longview. He has nine great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his sister, Betty Terry of Waxahachie and brother, Billy Wayne Arrington of Longview.
