Grancle James "Granny" Puckett

Services for Mr. Grancle "Granny" James Puckett, 92 of Gilmer will be held 2:00 P.M, Wednesday August 25, 2010 at Croley Funeral Home Chapel with David Mayhan, Petey Richardson and Don Wisenhunt officiating and interment to follow at West Mountain Cemetery in Upshur County. Mr. Puckett passed away on Friday, August 20, 2010 in Gilmer. He was born August 5, 1918, in Gilmer to Bob and Pearl Lansdale Puckett. Mr. Puckett served in the U. S. Army Air Corp during WWII. He was a member of Woodland Baptist Church, was employed in the oilfield and a carpenter. Mr. Puckett is survived by his son, Odell Puckett of Gilmer; daughter, Sandra Richardson of Gilmer; nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Puckett in 1994, daughters, Gail Walker and Karen Hamilton. Pallbearers are Matthew James Puckett, Barry "BoBo" Hamilton, James Joseph Hamilton, Scott Self, Jim Twilla, Dwight Day, Richard Self and Richard Hamilton. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
