Gloria Jean Russom

Mrs. Gloria Jean Russom, age 82, of Gladewater, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2018 at a Tyler hospital. Gloria was born in Longview on July 22, 1936 to the late Ray Leroy Newell and Mary Mae Cordell Newell. Gloria retired after 28 years working as a waitress for Denny’s in Longview. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Mr. L.B. Russom on March 22, 2014. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother, Danny Ray Newell, and granddaughter, Connie Jean Russom.
She is survived by her son, Larry Russom and wife Divina of Gladewater; daughters, Sharon Watts of Dallas, Linda Fail of Gladewater, Diane Hale and husband Jeff of Gladewater, Marti Russom of Gladewater; brothers, Roger Newell and wife Trish of Buda, Richard Newell of Oklahoma, James Newell of Tyler; sisters, Lohoma Venable and husband Bill of Terrell, Barbara Wilson of Tyler, Jo Ann Sides of Tyler; eleven grandchildren, Jason, Amanda, Misty, Rebecca, Carina, Amber, Lindsey, Ashley, Jayme, Felicia, J. Cody Melissa, Jody.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 10, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Croley Funeral Home of Gladewater. A funeral service will follow on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
