Gilbert Dougan

Services for Gilbert Dougan, 76, of Gladewater will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 3, 2016, at the North Loop Church of Christ in Gladewater under the direction of Croley Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday evening at Croley Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Mr. Dougan passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 in Gladewater.

Mr. Dougan was born October 4, 1940 in Prescott, Arkansas to the late Tom Dougan and Myrtice Hoover. Gilbert worked as a Machinist for R.G. LeTourneau for over 30 years and retired from Spencer Harris after 20 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends. Gilbert was a dedicated family man who left school to provide for his family; while attending night classes to earn his diploma. Gilbert had a great personality and wonderful sense of humor. He was a devoted member of the North Loop Church of Christ. Mr. Dougan was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be dearly missed by all the family and friends he leaves behind.

Gilbert is survived by his wife Linda Dougan; two sons Kent Dougan and wife Lesa of Dover, AR and Kyle Dougan of Longview; sister Jean Singleton of Prairie Grove, AR; four brothers Doyle Dougan of Gladewater, Paul Dougan of Fayetteville, AR., Leon Dougan of Tyler and Gary Dougan of Gladewater; four grandchildren Kylie Dougan, Brayden Dougan, Ashley Bowes, and Brettney Spangler; two great grandchildren Keagan Johnson and Braxton Bowes; numerous nieces and nephews as well as many other loving family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Tom and Myrtice Dougan; first wife Julia Ann Dougan; son Ricky Dougan; five siblings, Tommy Dougan, Aleene Willingham, Bobby Dougan, Edward Dougan and Jerry Dougan.
