Gerald "Jerry" Knapps, Sr.

Funeral services for Gerald "Jerry" Knapps, Sr., 72, of Pritchett will be Saturday, 10:00 A.M. October 26, 2013, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel and burial to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Upshur County. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 25, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Mr. Knapps, Sr. died on October 22, 2013 in Tyler. Mr. Knapps, Sr. was born November 14, 1940, in New Orleans, La. to Joseph D. and Lillian Estelle Desselle Knapps. He married Patricia Lane Donnahoe on March 16, 1963 in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. Mr. Knapps, Sr. was a lineman for Upshur Rural Electric. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Knapps of Pritchett; sons, Gerald S. "Jay" Knapps, Jr., Chris Knapps, Kevin Knapps,; daughter, Jennifer Shaw, brother, Darryl Knapps; sisters, Brenda Morris and Karen Roelke; 20 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Knapps was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Diane Cothran and 2 grandchildren, Joey and Janice Knapps.
