George Robert �Bob� McDonald DIANA: Services for Bob McDonald, 77, of Diana will be at 3:30 P.M., Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Simmons Hill Baptist Church in Diana, with Brother Pat Shannon and Brother Brie Knopp officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Interment will be at Ashland Cemetery in Diana. He went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 in Longview. Bob was born December 21, 1938 in Longview, Texas to George H. and Willie Dee McDonald. He served in the U.S. Army and 17 years in the National Guard. Bob was a member and deacon of Simmons Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Boy Scout leader of Troup 554 in Harleton, past Worshipful Master of Ashland Masonic Lodge A.M. F.M. #1138, member of Scottish Rites, Worthy Patron of Eastern Star # 355 and member of Master Builders. He was owner of McDonald Welding in Longview and former employee of B.C.P, retiring after working 68 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, serving his church and spending time with his family. Mr. McDonald is survived by his loving wife of 60 years; Glenda McDonald, son: Robby McDonald and wife Catherine of Diana, daughter: Cindy Clark and husband Dub of Diana, sister: Sally Barker, brothers: Billy and Mike McDonald, grandchildren, Georgetta Davis, Robert McDonald, Brad Clark, Gregg McDonald, Lauren Pugh, Rodney Clark, Curtis Reid and Chris Reid, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant son, Baby McDonald. The family will receive visitors on Friday, August 19, 2016, 6-8 p.m. at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana.
