George Robert DeWeese, Sr.

Funeral service for George Robert DeWeese, Sr., 81 of Big Sandy, TX will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer and interment to follow at Chilton Cemetery under the direction of Croley Funeral Home. Family will receive friends Friday, January 12, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 at Croley Funeral Home. Mr. DeWeese passed away Monday, January 8, 2018 in Tyler, TX.

George was born March 6, 1936 to the late George and Robbie Sue (Kay) DeWeese. Mr. DeWeese served our Country as a Merchant Marine. He retired from his position as supervisor at Exxon and then returned to Texas. George is also of the Baptist faith.

Mr. DeWeese is survived by his son; George Robert DeWeese, Jr. (Rita), daughters; Melissa Sims (Lloyd), Kathy Hastert (Chris), grandchildren; Travis DeWeese, Nick DeWeese, Haley DeWeese, Charlie Hahn, Tyler Hahn, Jessica Hahn, Colin Hastert, Riley Hastert, Mae Rose DeWeese, Michael DeWeese, Gabriel Mathis, Kaylee Sims, and 7 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his first wife; Martha DeWeese and second wife; Johnnie DeWeese.
