George Pool

Funeral service for George Pool, 94, of Upshur County, will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, the 13th, 2018, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Bro Clay Potter and Bro Michael Pool officiating. Interment will follow at Rosewood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, the 12th, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
George Pool passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, August 11th, 2018, with his loving cousin and caregiver, Carrie Reaves, by his side.
George was born in Upshur County on December 28, 1923, the 9th of 11 children born to Otis Valentine Pool and Ruby Ann Davis Pool.
He was raised in the Rosewood Community, and attended Harmony Schools. He was a U S Navy Veteran, having served in WW II.
He married Sadie Hagan on December 28, 1953 in Durant, Oklahoma. They were married almost 42 years before Sadie's death in 1995.
After living and working in the Duncanville area for a number of years, they moved back to Upshur County. George went to work for Upshur County and retired from there. George was a member of Concord Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and eight siblings.
George is survived by his daughter, Diane Huckabee, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, brother, Moody Pool, sister, Audrey Pool Smith; and a large number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
