Genia Lee (Brown) Stallings

Genia Brown Stallings, age 85, passed away Wednesday March 12th in Tyler, Texas. She was born in Kilgore Texas on May 23, 1939 to Joseph Benjamin Brown (Pete) and Snoda Irene Brown.

Genia attended and graduated from Leveretts Chapel High School. There she served as cheerleader and Homecoming Queen of the class of 1957. Her most cherished job was being a homemaker and raising her two children. In 1988 she wed Hubert Stallings in Denver, Colorado where they enjoyed many years camping and traveling. They eventually settled back in Liberty City, Texas where they retired and spent time with family, friends and grandchildren.

Genia is survived by her husband, Hubert Stallings; daughter, Javan Garza and husband Paul; son, Mike Schmitz and wife Susie and stepdaughter Staci Stallings; grandchildren, Summer Garza of Tyler, Steven Garza of Cushing and Angela Garza of Benbrook; brother, Joe Brown and wife Deeann, and the one that her family always said she loved the most, her dog Daisy.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Larry Brown.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nurses at The Hospice of East Texas and caregiver, Chris Ashby, for her caring support.

A Graveside service will be held at Rock Springs cemetery in Liberty City at 2pm. Saturday March 15.
