Mrs. Genell Dehart Narramore, age 88 of Diana, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 13, 2018 at a Longview hospital. Genell was born in Pioneer, Louisiana on February 14, 1930 to the late George and Eula Carter Powell.
Genell is remembered by her loved ones for her strength and for her love. She loved God, and she loved the fellowship she shared with brothers and sisters at both Simmons Hill Baptist Church and Smyrna United Methodist Church. Genell loved her family, and she loved to cook. She also loved the outdoors; she especially loved working in her gardens and caring for her beautiful flowers. She was a devoted homemaker, and last worked for the Monarch Tile Company in Marshall.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband James Dehart in 1997, and eight siblings.
She is survived by her husband, Mr. Charles Narramore of Diana; sons, Bobby Dehart and wife Patsy of Lake of the Pines, Jim Narramore and wife Debbie of Austin; daughters, Lynette Peterson of San Antonio, Reba Narramore and husband Russ of Yantis, Anita Hurst and husband Sebastian of Ft. Worth; brothers, Wayne Powell of Diana, Jerry Powell and wife Wanda of Longview; sister, Ann White and husband Larry of Tyler; six grandchildren, Brian Dehart, Jeremiah Dehart, Joey Peterson, Carmen Perry, Keri McDonald, Mikhal Hurst; eleven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Simmons Hill Baptist Church in Diana, with Gabriele Knopp officiating, interment will follow at Ashland Cemetery in Diana, with Joey Peterson, Brian Dehart, Jeremiah Dehart, Mikhail Hurst, Steve Dugger and Kenny Hankins serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 6:00 PM til 8:00 PM at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana.
Floral offerings are welcome, but if desired, donations can be made to the Simmons Hill Baptist Church or Smyrna United Methodist Church in her memory.
