Ikie Gene Lansford DIANA � A celebration of life for Ikie Gene Lansford, 83, of Diana will be held Monday, May 2, 2016 at 2 o�clock in the afternoon at Morton Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Gary Earle, Ben Clayton and Jerry Don Jones. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Gene passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016. He was born August 6, 1932 in Kilgore, Texas to Ike and Marie Lansford. Gene was a compassionate, kind, loving, wonderful husband and father with an inner strength founded on his deep Christian faith in Jesus Christ. He was a Godly man and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Gene graduated from Springhill ISD in 1950. On December 23, 1988, he married Linda Box of Chireno, Texas at Fellowship Baptist Church in Springhill. They maintained a residence in Diana, Texas for 22 years. They were married for 28 years, and greatly enjoyed one another�s company and traveled the U.S. Gene was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force for 4 years in the Korean Conflict. He retired from Texas Eastman Kodak after 38 years as a general supervisor in power distribution and control systems. He was a member, deacon, and Sunday school teacher at Morton Baptist Church where he served on the building and grounds committee and also served as unit director and certified trainer for Southern Baptist Disaster Relief team. His hobbies were fishing, hunting, traveling and being with family. Gene is preceded in death by his parents, Ike and Marie Lansford, first wife Glenda Lansford and brothers, Jerry and Harold Lansford. Holding him close to their hearts in this life is he loving wife of 28 years of Diana, Linda Lansford, son Barry Lansford and wife Paula, of Longview, daughter Terrie West and husband David of Houston and son Danny Lansford and wife Kelly of Tyler, grandchildren: Josh Lansford and wife Tracie, Jacen Lansford and wife Angela, Jennifer Wolf, Meagan Hernandez and husband Philip, Lindsey Lansford, Jaclyn Felts and husband Matthew and Jerry and Lindsay Crenshaw, great-grandchildren: Jonas and Preston Lansford, Abby and Jacob Wolf, Emma Kate, Eli and Ellie Lansford and Jack Crenshaw, all who affectionately loved him, additional friends, nieces, nephews, cousins and longtime best friend, Jerry Don Jones. Pallbearers include Jerry Don Jones, Roger Smith, Ronnie Jones, Dennis Jones, Don Reagh and Ricky Newman. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Roberts and Clifton Parker. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 3-5 p.m. at Grubbs-Loyd Chapel in Diana.
