Gene Allen Gaines Gladewater " A private celebration of life for Gene Allen Gaines, 60, of Hawkins, will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater. Born on August 16, 1951, in Harlinger, Texas, he died on Tuesday, September 13, 2011. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Vietnam War. He was shop manager for Exterrian Gas Compressor Company. He is survived by his father, Donald Allen Gaines of Magnolia; daughter, Tammy Gaines of Beeville; 2 sons, Joshua Gaines and Jacob Gaines, both of Beeville; 5 grandchildren; and sister, Gail Carrol Gaines of Hawkins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Carrol Gaines, and his son, Samuel Gaines. No visitation is scheduled.
