Gayle E. Johnson

Services for Mr. Gayle E. Johnson, 73, of Gilmer will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 5, 2011, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Bishop Lance Seahorn officiating. Interment will follow at Kelsey Cemetery in Upshur County under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mr. Johnson passed away Monday, January 31, 2011 in Longview.
He was born November 15, 1937, in Upshur County, Texas to Joel Edward and Grace Parsons Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a welder, a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church in Gilmer.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Kelly Johnson of Charlotte, NC, Donald and Natalie Johnson of Longview, Richard and Wendi Johnson of Gilmer; sister, Myra Watts of Pritchett; the mother of his children, Brenda Johnson of Gilmer; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Johnson, Donald Johnson, Richard Johnson, Edward Johnson, Boyd Johnson, Jarred Johnson and Hayden Johnson.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February, 4, 2011 at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
