DIANA Services for Garrett B. Coppedge, 91, of Longview, will be at 11:00 A.M., May 3, 2014 at Grubbs-Loyd Chapel in Diana, officiated by Brother Don Kitchell and Reverend Terrill Pearson. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Interment will be at Ore City Cemetery. He passed away May 1, 2014.
Garrett was born December 24, 1922 in Ore City to Clark C and Eunice ONeal Coppedge. He was a retired welder for Letourneau and a member of the Gilmer Apostolic Church. Mr. Coppedge proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law: Wanda and James Andrews of Gilmer, Beverly and Paul Davis of Gilmer, and Barbara and Dudley Craig of Henderson, grandchildren: Anthony Cappadonna, Stacia Pyeatt, Chris Sharp and Russell Sharp, great-grandchildren, Noah Sharp, Carly Sharp and Christopher Sharp and several nieces and nephews.
Garrett was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Charlie and Reed Coppedge, sister: Katie Breazeale and grandsons Benjamin Yates and Charles Neal Yates III.
The family will receive visitors on December 3, 2014, 10 to 11 A.M before the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations are made to the Benjamin Jared Yates Scholarship Fund at Kilgore Jr. College, Attention: Leah Gorman, 1100 Broadway, Kilgore, Texas, 75662.
