Fred Garrett

Funeral services for Mr. Fred Garrett, 66, of Ore City will be held at 11:00 A.M, Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Bro. Wade Maberry officiating. Interment will follow in Glenwood cemetery in Upshur County. Mr. Garrett passed away on Friday, September 19, 2014, in Ore City. He was born July 26, 1948, Naples, Texas to Brady M. and Tee Davis Garrett. Fred was a machinist at Lone Star Steel and a Baptist. Mr. Garrett is survived by his wife, Donna Garrett of Ore City; sons, Stephen Bishop (Patti Garrett-Wright) and Michael Garrett (Cydni Collier) all of Gilmer; daughter, Stacy Bishop of Ore City; brothers, George Garrett, Brady Garrett, Jimmy Garrett and Kenneth Garrett; sisters, Valorie Garrett and Brenda Garrett; six grandchildren, Dustin Bishop, Whitney Bishop, Brandi Bishop, Cody Bishop, Sasha Bishop and Jordin Garrett; four great-grand-grandchildren, Justices Bishop, Bryllon Medrano, Brody Bishop and Ashton Wright, numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Norman Garrett and J.T. Garrett. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday September 22, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
