Frank Edgar Eggleston Jr.

Frank Edgar Eggleston Jr. of White Oak, Texas, born on August 7, 1952 in Gladewater, Texas left his earthly life on February 12, 2025, his girl’s at his bedside.

Papa, as he became affectionately known following the birth of his only granddaughter was a friend to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His time on this earth was one marked by love, and an unwavering faithfulness to his wife of 54 years, Karon Ann Fletcher Eggleston as well as a giving and helpful spirit, willing to assist anybody in need. He impacted many lives along his journey.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Frank Sr and Melba Smith Eggleston, three sisters Mary Ann Tuel, Lucille Laverne Pope, Patsy Lee Thomas, a brother Eddie Wayne Eggleston, a nephew Micheal Wayne Tuel and a best friend Johnny “Red” Sharrer.

Frank is survived by his loving wife, Karon. His only daughter Stephanie Ann Wood and husband, John (Andy) Wood of Gilmer, Texas and his only and cherished granddaughter Dr. Savannah Claire Wood of Tatum, Texas. He also leaves behind dearly loved brothers and sisters in law, Charles Tuel, David Fletcher, Jonny Fletcher, Doug Fletcher, Nancy Smith and Eva Brown. Nephews Dennis Thomas, Clint Tuel and numerous extended family.

Following graduation from White Oak High School in 1970, Frank went to work for Marathon LeTourneau Company where he remained until retirement after 44 years of service.

Away from work, he was a dedicated family man, an avid outdoorsman a gifted fabricator, mechanic and master of all trades.

Those who knew Frank will remember him for his mischievous sense of humor, his love of deer hunting, fishing for anything that swims, his heart for helping anybody in need, his love of baseball, and his devotion to his girls, Karon, Stephanie and Savannah. He will leave a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

Services at 2:00 PM to be followed by a meal provided by Sale Barn Fellowship.‍

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital.
