Frances Davis Scott

Funeral services for Frances Davis Scott, 93, of White Oak will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2011, in the Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Scott died Monday afternoon, September 5, 2011, at Margaret"s House, Beacon Hospice, in Longview. A native of the Shady Grove Community, she was born August 3, 1918, to Thomas Larkin and Mary Dee Davis. After graduating from Big Sandy High School, she attended Draughon"s Business College in Wichita Falls. After moving back to Big Sandy, she became the Secretary to the Superintendent in the Big Sandy School System. Mrs. Scott is survived by her husband, Ernest C. Scott, to whom she was married 17 years; a stepson, Michael Scott, his wife Elyse of Longview and their two sons, Bradley of Tyler and Taylor of Houston; two sisters, Marcell Snow of Shady Grove and Ida Lou Williamson of White Oak; two nieces, Ouida Williamson Ashworth of White Oak and Barbara Davis currently in Germany; and seven nephews, Mike Davis of Shady Grove, Jimmy Williamson of Houston, Robert Williamson of Canton, Georgia, Tom Davis of Big Sandy, Kenneth Snow of Georgetown, Don Snow of Shady Grove, and Joe Snow of Shady Grove. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2011, at the funeral home.
