Eva Rae Yates

Funeral service for Ms. Eva Rae Yates, 91, of Gilmer, Texas is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Monday, September 20, 2021 at Pine Acres Baptist Church with Bro. James Jackson officiating, interment to follow the service at Gilmer City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM, Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.

Ms. Yates was born February 14, 1930, in Kirbyville, Texas to the late James and Verbie Everage Jones and passed from this life on Thursday, September 16, 2021. Eva worked as an administrative assistant for Etex Telephone until her retirement and was a faithful member of Pine Acres Baptist Church.

Eva met and married Raymond Leo Davis (proceeds her in death) in 1946 and were married for 33 years. Through this union they had 5 children, Allen Davis (proceeds her in death), Phyllis Breazeal (proceeds her in death), Tommy Davis (proceeds her in death), Ramona Davis, of Addison, Tx, and Tina Davis (proceeds her in death). She then remarried James Yates (proceeds her in death) in 1980 and were married for 18 years. She leaves in her memory, 2 brother of 13 brothers and sister, Charles Jones and Johnny Jones, both of Kirbyville, TX; 10 grandchildren, 23 great children, 6 great- great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
