Elva Madelle Culwell

Services for Elva Madelle Culwell, 89, of Gilmer will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Jody Day officiating. Interment to follow at Glade Creek Cemetery in Upshur County. Mrs. Culwell passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017 in Gilmer.

Elva Culwell was born March 27, 1928 in Wichita Falls, Texas to the late Edward Allen Hale and Mamie Era Hollis. Elva was a Riveter for LTV Aviation and a member of the Baptist faith. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother. Elva will be truly missed by all the loving family and friends she leaves behind.

She is survived by her son, Virgil Jackson of Dallas; daughters, Linda Morgan of Gilmer, Kathy Garner and her husband Mike of Yantis, Texas; 10 precious grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Elva is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mamie Hale; daughter, Sally Alane King.

Pallbearers for the funeral service will be: Bryce Morgan, Alec Mayhan, Dylan Morgan, Tyler Smith, Travis Garner, and Noah Mayhan.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
