Elmer Patrick "Pat" White

Elmer Patrick “Pat” White passed away unexpectedly Sunday, February 26, 2024, at the age of 74.  Pat was born in Sardis, Mississippi, on November 22, 1949, to Elmer Vernon and Ila Curtis Long White. 

 His family moved to Grand Prairie, Texas, when he was 2. Pat graduated from Grand Prairie High School where he excelled in football, basketball and baseball. After graduation, he attended the University of Houston where he received a degree in pharmacy in 1973. Pat had an opportunity to travel Europe and love to tell of his adventures. He was also a certified scuba diver. Pat was a city boy but became a full time rancher. He purchased some land and raised longhorn cattle. He built fences, baled hay and took care of his “pet” cows. 

 Pat leaves behind one brother, Rick and sister-in-law Sharon White of Hawkins, Texas, nieces Krystal and her husband Scott Tripp of Monroe, Louisiana, Ashley and her husband Jeremy Strickland of Lindale, Texas, as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. 

 Memorial services will be held March 9 at 10 am at Canton Frist United Methodist Church, 600 Buffalo Street, Canton, Texas.
