Ellisa "Lisa" Ruth Misenheimer Phippen

Ellisa (Lisa) Ruth Misenheimer Phippen,53, of Gilmer, Texas, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2015, in a tragic automobile accident in Tyler, Texas. She was born on March 24, 1962 in Dallas, Texas, To Dr. John D. Misenheimer and Verda Mae Murphy. Lisa selflessly devoted herself to her family and others. She was a loving wife and mother, and was the rock that they depended on. Lisa exemplified the love of Christ every hour, whether at home, at work, and in every relationship she had. Lisa once expressed, "my goal in life is to encourage the upcoming generation to become positive leaders in today"s society." And she did! Lisa"s service to others began at an early age when she began working in the dental field for her father and continued after she married. Lisa married her husband, Steven Phippen in 1990, and together they served in the youth ministry. Shortly after, they started their family in 1991. Lisa left the work force to home school her children for a time, and re-entered the workforce to serve at Kinsman Home Health Care for 10 years. She was instrumental in the growth and development of the agency by her management of employees through her personal philosophy of servant leadership. Lisa was always looking for opportunities to grow in life. She returned to school to earn her Master"s Degree, while being a wife, mother, daughter, friend, and full-time employee. Her talents were vast and many. She sang with the Continental Singers and for many years at her church. Her spiritual gift was encouragement. She was always available to those in need, and was a prayer warrior. She was a gifted leader, manager, and a calming force in the midst of storms. When life shifted, her talents shifted. Lisa always had a love for sewing. After much prayer and a life change, she was able to start a business to utilize that talent. She started Unbreakable Seams, a quilting and sewing business that would serve the community and give back what the Lord blessed her with. The inspiration for the business came from Acts 9:36, which depicts a seamstress named Dorcas who selflessly sewed garments for widows and cared for the community. Lisa was looking forward to the future, constantly making plans to provide for her family by helping her daughter, Carlee, get into a house; helping Marriah in her schooling and career choices; helping Celine by being her best advocate in her care and progress; and supporting her nephew, Luke, in his academic career and as a mentor. Lisa had a personal relationship with the Lord. It is her prayer and that of her family that all may know the love of the Heavenly Father. "I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his inner being so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, and I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord"s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God." Lisa is Survived by her husband of 25 years, Steven Phippen of Gilmer; daughters, Carlee Phippen of Tyler, Marriah Phippen and Celine Phippen; sister-in-law, Tina Misenheimer; nephew, Luke Misenheimer; niece, Rebekah Miller all of Gilmer; mother-in-law, Johnnie Phippen of Prescott, Arizona; and many other loved family members on both sides of the family. She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. John D. Misenheimer; mother, Verda Mae Misenheimer and brother, Randy Misenheimer. Visitation for Lisa will be on Thursday, August 13, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer, Texas. Services will be held Friday, August 14, at 10:00 A.M. at New Beginnings Baptist Church on George Richey Road in Longview, Texas. A private graveside will follow.
