Services for Mrs. Elizabeth P. Smith, 82, of Tyler will be held 10:00 A.M., June 24, 2011, at First Baptist Church-Big Sandy, Texas with Reverend Gregg Traylor officiating. Burial will follow at Chilton Cemetery in Big Sandy under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mrs. Smith passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2011 in Longview. Mrs. Smith was born on February 5, 1929, in Big Sandy, Texas to Odis and Callie Elizabeth Hale Parsons. She was a self employed beautician and a member of the First Baptist Church of Big Sandy. Mrs. Smith is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Gail Morris of Chandler, Timothy Morris of Tyler; daughters and sons-in-law, Melody and Buzz Payne of Big Sandy, Tina and Willie Rogers of Illinois, Cathy and David Dean of Big Sandy, Vicky Himel of Big Sandy; 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Smith in 1989; parents; brother, Buddy Parsons and daughter, Virginia White. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 23, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 at the funeral home.
