Elaine Wedin

Mrs. Elaine Wedin, age 74, of Gladewater, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 in Longview. Elaine was born in Mayfield, Kentucky on February 24, 1947 to the late William and Helen Wright Schafner. She was a loving and devoted homemaker and a Baptist. She loved spending time with her family, playing bingo, working word finds, watching true crime and detective shows with a cold Dr. Pepper.

She is survived by her sons, Bubby Young of Gladewater, Ronnie Ryan and wife Kelly of Longview, Donnie Ryan and wife Brooke of Longview, Billy Wedin and wife Tammie of Palestine; daughters, Mary Sexton of Gladewater, Elaine Stephens and husband Lynn of Kilgore; grandchildren, Jarrod Sexton, Heather Sexton, Lacey Centers and husband Dennis, Brianna Hohn and husband Daniel, Alyssa Whitaker, Olivia Ryan, Chloe Moore; two great-grandchildren, Chelsea, and Jaxon Hohn.

She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Mary Helen Wedin; brother, Bill Schafner; and grandson, Asher Wedin.

Private interment was held at Gladewater Memorial Park.
