Funeral services for Effie Marie DeGeorge, 88, of Gilmer will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 22, 2012, at First Baptist Church in Gilmer with Bro. Ricky Rigsby officiating. Interment will be in Coker Cemetery in Cooke County, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mrs. DeGeorge passed away Friday, January 20, 2012, in a Tyler hospice. Mrs. DeGeorge was born January 28, 1923 in Bulcher, Texas to Shelby and Effie Lewis West. She was a retired production technician with Texas Instruments, having lived in Upshur County since 1995, a member of the Senior Citizens, Dorcas Sunday School Class, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Gilmer. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Carolyn DeGeorge of Grapevine, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Bill Starnes of Gilmer; five grandchildren, Valerie Roberts, Meredith Schneider, Sarah Langford, Ashley Poling and Hadden Starnes; six great-grandchildren, Glenna, Avery and Dalton Langford, Lexi and Halle Schneider and Abigail Poling. Preceded in death by her husband John DeGeorge in 2006. Pallbearers will be Hadden Starnes, Chance Langford, Jason Roberts, Ronnie Rector, Brent Schneider, Zach Poling and John Starnes. Visitation will be in the main auditorium from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 22, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Gilmer. Memorial may be made to the Coker Cemetery Fund, % FNB, P.O.
