Edwin J. Helpenstill

A gathering of family and friends for a celebration of the life of Edwin J. Helpenstill will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Enon Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mr. Helpenstill passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, August 23, 2015. Mr. Helpenstill was born on March 13, 1938 in Gilmer, to Jewell and Vera Davis Helpenstill. He was a retired chemical operator with Texas Eastman, a lifetime resident of Upshur County and a member of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife, Jo Helpenstill; sons, Bruce Crockett, Carl and wife, Melissa Crockett; daughters, Elaine Perkins, Jeri Alexander, Relan Helpenstill, and Michelle Terry and husband, Chris; brothers, James Helpenstill and wife, Francis, Vernon Helpenstill and wife, Thelma, Roy Helpenstill and wife, Linda, Ray Helpenstill and wife, Flossie and Troy Helpenstill; sister, Alice Chipman; grandchildren, Sheldon, Cole, Nicolas, Kevin, Cary, Christopher, Bud, Nicole, Dana, Brandon, Brittany, Kaitlyn, Mason, Josh and Destiny; great-grandchildren, Cheyanne, Kelsie, Braydon, Ariana, Clayton, Archer, Victoria, Emberleigh. No formal visitation is scheduled.
