Services for Edward Andrew Bennett, Jr., 82, of Holly Lake Ranch, are scheduled for 2:00p.m., Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Holly Tree Chapel. Edward died Thursday, January 8, 2015 in Tyler. Services will be conducted by Dr. David Reagan of Lamb & Lion Ministries and Dr. Tim Mink. Visitation will be prior to the service, from 12:30 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m., funeral at the Chapel. Interment will follow in Holly Tree Cemetery. Ed was born in San Antonio on Valentine's Day, 1932, the only child of Ed, Sr., and Louise LaFitte Bennett. The family moved to Houston, then to Waco, where he graduated from high school in 1949. "Eddie" was a Registered Professional Engineer who earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M in 1953, then served in the Army Artillery before earning his MS in Mechanical Engineering from a university in Austin. He served as manager of EAME (Europe, Africa, and Middle East) for GSI in the early 70s and later as President of GEO Space in Houston. For the last 25 years of his working life, he owned and operated an HVAC contracting company--named Texas Air Management (aTm"). He was blessed to serve as a trustee for Lamb & Lion Ministries from its beginning in 1980. He also served as a trustee for Harmony Independent School District, as well as Holly Tree Chapel where the family has attended for many years. He was predeceased by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Bettysu Longley Bennett; daughter, Jacqueline (Jacky) Bennett; son, Brent Northcutt and wife, Michelle of Granbury; beloved granddaughters, Madison Marie and Morgan Marie Northcutt, and several cuzzins. The family wishes to thank all of you whose prayers, visits, and notes and calls of encouragement have helped so much; caregivers at Clairmont Nursing Home; and Hospice of East Texas in Tyler.
