Edith Ann Beisch

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Edith Ann Beisch, 79, of Gilmer will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Gilmer with Reverend Mark Dunne officiating. Interment will be in Rosewood Memorial Park in Longview. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mrs. Beisch passed away on Friday, January 30, 2015 in Gilmer. She was born December 18, 1935, in East Mountain, Texas to John Taylor Wilson, III and Lily Myrtle Gann Wilson. On January 3, 1961, she married Robert Joe Beisch in Longview, Texas and was employed with Washington National Insurance. Mrs. Beisch was a member of Republican Women of Upshur County, and a founding member of East Mountain Women"s Association. She served as Mayor and City Councilwoman of East Mountain and worked tirelessly on many causes and campaigns. She was a member of the Catholic Faith. She is survived by her son, Shannon Taylor Beisch of Longview; daughter, Rhonda Donette Pope of Gilmer; sister-in-law, Maryann Mauldin of Atlanta, TX; brothers-in-law, William George Beisch of Gilmer, John Beisch and wife JoAnn of Texarkana, AR and Don Beisch of Louisiana; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Beisch was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Joe Beisch; brother, Gus Wilson and sister, Ora Lorene Wilson Day; and sister-in-law, Betty Sue Hair. Memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m., Monday, February 2, 2015, with visitation to follow at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
