Ernest Lloyd "Ernie" Dowdy Gladewater -- Graveside services for Earnest Loyd "Ernie" Dowdy, 64, of Winona, will be held on Monday, July 2, 2012, at 10 A.M. at Friendship Cemetery with Jonathan Latham and John Daniel Cutter officiating. Born on July 16, 1947, in Gladewater, Texas, he died on Friday, June 29, 2012. He was a retired shipping manager at Trinity Industries. He was a Christian and member at Caney Creek Baptist Church in Winona. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Dowdy of Winona; 2 step-sons, Lee Powers of Gilmer and Kavin Powers of Tatum; daughter, Kim McFadin of Jacksonville; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Marge Rogers and Jean Ames, both of Longview; Dean Daly of Gilmer; 1 sister-in-law, Linda Dowdy of Wichita Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, Homer Franklin and Mae Brown Dowdy; brothers, Kenneth Dowdy and Johnny Brown; sister, Jackie Collins; and 2 grandchildren, Mickeal Powers and Novy Powers.
