Earnest C. "Sonny" Hamberlin

Graveside services for Mr. Earnest C. "Sonny" Hamberlin, 88, of Gilmer will be held 10:00 A.M, Friday, April 26, 2013, at Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer with Reverend Ray Thompson and Reverend Kenneth Dacus officiating under the direction of Croley Funeral Home. Mr. Hamberlin passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, in Longview. He was born February 12, 1925, in Upshur County, Texas to Walter Moroni and Gladys Cornelia Jones Hamberlin. Mr. Hamberlin served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. He was a retired Dairy Farmer and a Baptist. Mr. Hamberlin is survived by his son, Dr. Larry Wayne Hamberlin and wife, Phyliss of Terrell, Texas; daughter, Glenda Fischtziur of Frisco; brother, Keith Hamberlin and wife, Beth of Gilmer; sister, Florette Bench of Rockwall; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Zama Hamberlin on October 6, 2009 and grandson, Stephen Michael Hamberlin. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 25 from 6:30 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
