Doyle D. Taylor, 101, of Bonham, Texas, formerly of Upshur County was born on November 16, 1918 in North Zulch, TX and passed away on July 16, 2020. He served in the U.S. Navy for three years and was a master welder on airplanes during World War II. Doyle married Celia Bell Monk on December 19, 1941, they were married for 69 years. He could often times be found fishing, tending to his garden, or ranching. Doyle was a devoted Christian, he served as a deacon at Little Mound Missionary Baptist Church and Fair View Baptist Church in Grand Prairie.
Doyle was preceded in death by his wife, Celia Taylor; son, Larry Doyle Taylor, and three sisters. He is survived by his sister, Nadine Havard of North Zulch; grandchildren, Lisa Barnes of Grand Prairie, Sherry McKenzie and husband, Clay of Ft. Worth, Casey Barnes of Euless; and seven great grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 22, 2020, 11:00 AM at the Little Mound Cemetery with Bro. Michael Phillips officiating.
