Douglas Phillips

Services for Douglas "Doug" Phillips, 65, of Greensboro, N.C. will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Mr. Billy Koinm officiating. Interment will follow at West Mountain Cemetery in Upshur County. Mr. Phillips passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2014, in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He was born on January 7, 1948, in Fort Worth, Texas to Robert L. and Helen Phillips. Mr. Phillips was a Construction Superintendent for The Austin Company. He was a hard worker and took great pride in his work; Doug also loved to travel. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Sam and Leta Phillips. Mr. Phillips is survived by his longtime girlfriend, Cathy Swayngim of NC; daughters, Jennifer Haggard and husband, Chris of TX, Samantha Gobelet of TN ; brothers Mark Phillips and James Phillips; sisters, Bobbi Jean Carnes, Becky Sinyard and Robin Phillips; grandchildren, Drew, Mason, Lauren, Ean, Aiden, Brady and Carter. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M Friday, January 10, 2014, at the funeral home.
