Dorothy Dean Hanson

Dorothy Hanson Gladewater -- Graveside services for Dorothy Dean Hanson, 86, of Gladewater, will be held on Friday, December 9, 2011, at 2 P.M. at Friendship Cemetery with Brother Charles Paschall officiating. Born on December 11, 1924, in Starrville, Texas, to James and Lilly Goodson McNutt, she died on December 6, 2011. On May 30, 1942, she married Arthur "Dell" Hanson, and they made Gladewater their home after World War II. She worked for Honey Togs Clothing Manufacturers in Gladewater for 29 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and D.P. Bowen of Buffalo, Texas; son, James L. Hanson, Sr. of Longview; grandchildren, Monica Hanson Hardy, James L. Hanson, Jr., and Marci Hanson Smith, all of Longview; Cheyenne Hanson of Coldwater, Kansas; ten great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Redfern of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Henry McNutt; husband, Arthur Dell Hanson; and grandson, David A. Bowen. No visitation is scheduled.
