Doris �Dot� Helms DIANA � Doris �Dot� Helms, a longtime resident of Longview, Texas, died peacefully at Baylor University Hospital, February 13, 2016. Doris was born July 13, 1926 to George and Maureen Thornton. She spent most of her life in Longview with the exception of the time she lived in Colorado where she truly loved it. She was married to Huel Lee Helms and together they owned and operated Safeway Plumbing Company and the DeLeAnne Shopping Center. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Family was always the most important thing to her. She was a member of Graceton Church of Christ. Doris was truly blessed. She departed her earthly life at age 89. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Maureen Thornton, her husband, Huel Lee Helms, her precious daughter,r Lesa Sherman, her brother, George �Sug� Thornton and sister Mary White. She is survived by her daughter Deloris Hiller of Sulphur Springs, daughter Dianne Cornils and son-in-law Cort Cornils of Loveland, CO., her grandchildren Scott Cornils and wife Stacey, Highlands Ranch, CO., Chris Cornils and wife Jennifer, Murrieta, CA., Ashley Cornils, Chicago, IL., Nicole Cornils, Greeley, CO., Christian Sherman, Sulphur Springs, TX., Randy Hiller, Mineola, TX., and Steven Hiller, Plano, TX., 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home, Diana, Texas. Visitation will be Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home, followed by funeral service at 2 P.M. Burial will be at Mattox Cemetery in Diana.
