Donnie Marion Magee

Services for Mr. Donnie Marion Magee, 81 of Gilmer will be held 10:00 A.M, Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Pete Dugger officiating. Burial will be held at Saturday at 2:00 P.M at McDonald Cemetery in New Summerfield, Texas. Mr. Magee was born on June 13, 1930, in New Summerfield to Chester and Ruthie Carpenter Magee and passed away on Thursday, June 07, 2012 in Gilmer. He married Janet Lindsey in 1979 in Las Vegas. They lived in George West, Texas and Red Springs, Texas before moving to the Gilmer area in 2007. Mr. Magee served in the U. S. Air Force, was a Shriner, a Mason and a member of the Baptist faith. He was a self employed oil and gas producer. Mr. Magee is survived by his wife of 33 years, Janet Magee; son and daughter-in-law, Don Edward and Anita Magee of Jacksonville; daughters and sons-in-laws, Debbie and Ed Williams of Gilmer, Mackie and Roger Allen of Beaumont; sister, Jeaninne Arnold of Arp; eight grandchildren, D. J. Magee, Wade Magee, Jon Wesley Magee, Candi Jo Brocato, Katie Lorten, Alyssa Lorten, Cathrine Williams and Ashley Williams; two great grandchildren, Hayden Brocato and Tatum Brocato. He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Magee. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 8, 2012, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
