Graveside service for Donnie C. Gidden, Jr., 63, of Big Sandy will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 22, 2015, in Liberty Cemetery in Wood County with Dr. Bill Holmes officiating. Interment will be in Liberty Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Hawkins. Mr. Gidden passed Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at his residence. Mr. Gidden was born December 18, 1951, in Mexia, Texas to Donnie C, Gidden, Sr. and Katie V. Williams Gidden. He was retired from Gulf Oil Company, had lived in Big Sandy for 50 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hawkins. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Gidden of Big Sandy; sister, Phoebe Gidden Carter and husband, Steve of Allen; nephews, Clint Carter of Allen and David Carter of Allen; nieces, Mary Kate Carter of Allen, Levida Boykin and husband, Greg of Dalhart, Candy Crippen and husband, Jonathan of Hawkins, Jennifer Hill of Ashdown, AR, Joanna Sprouse and husband, Jim of Ft. Worth and Jenny Parker and husband, Chris of Hawkins; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sharon and Roger Pace of Hawkins; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews and his beloved dog, Sweet Pea. Mr. Gidden was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until service at Liberty Cemetery in Wood County, Wednesday, April 22, 2015.
