Donald Ray Fortenberry

Services for Donald Ray "Don" Fortenberry, 71, of Gladewater will be Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gladewater with Reverend Mickey Baggs officiating. Burial will follow at the Gladewater Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater. Mr. Fortenberry passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2016 in Tyler. Donald was born November 28, 1944 in Lubbock, Texas to the late Thomas Bandy Fortenberry and Ava Othella Berry Fortenberry. Mr. Fortenberry was a retired independent contractor after many years of work. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Don enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. He was a longtime faithful member of the New Resurrection Full Gospel Church and was a devout Christian who loved the Lord. Mr. Fortenberry will be missed by all the family and friends he leaves behind. He is survived by his wife of more than 54 years Charlene Fortenberry; son and daughter-in-law Shawn and Christene Fortenberry; two sisters Velma Louise Key and Mary Ellen Marshall; four grandchildren Thomas Howard Fortenberry, Sarah Yvonne Fortenberry Meyer, Elizabeth Nicole Fortenberry and Nathan Andrew Fortenberry as well as many other adopted grandchildren, great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many other loving family and friends. Mr. Fortenberry is preceded in death by his two sons Donald Wayne "Donny" Fortenberry and Thomas Ray Fortenberry.
