Donald Richard Patterson

Donald Richard Patterson, a cherished member of the Gilmer community, passed away February 25,2025, at the age of 83. Born on April 13, 1941, in Gilmer to Richard and Mildred Patterson. 

Donald was known for his love of the outdoors. He found joy in exploring nature, whether he was working outside or simply enjoying the fresh air. His passion for reading blossomed from a young age, and he carried this love throughout his life. 

Donald served honorably in the Army, and that experience shaped the strong, determined man he was. After his service, he turned his focus to real estate, where he established a successful career that brought him fulfillment and satisfaction.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Clarence and Thada Mildred (Prewitt) Patterson; 2 brothers, Wayne Patterson and David Patterson; 1 sister, Nelda Moore.

Those left to cherish his memories are his brother, Roger Patterson; sister, Patricia Siddick, along with many nieces and nephews.

Private family burial to take place at a later date.
