Memorial services for Donald L. Davis, 76, of Hawkins will be 12:00 noon, Friday, August 1, 2014, at First Baptist Church in Hawkins with Dr. Bill Holmes and Bro. Dennis Parnell officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Hawkins. Mr. Davis passed Tuesday, July 29, 2014 in a Tyler hospital. Mr. Davis was born December 26, 1937, in Lampasas, Texas to George and Eva Crawford Davis. He was a graduate of North Texas State University in Denton, was a teacher and taught for 26 years in Vernon ISD and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hawkins. Mr. Davis married his high school sweetheart on July 30, 1959 and would have celebrated their 55 years of marriage on July 30, 2014. Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Sherry Davis of Hawkins; son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Pam Davis of Boerne, TX; daughters and son-in-law, Cayla Davis of Hawkins and Crissy and Ken Stone of Holly Lake Ranch. He was a doting grandfather of Ben and Marisa Davis, Jacob Davis, Abby Davis, Chloe Stone, Brady Stone and Asa Stone. He was survived by siblings, James and Edith Davis, Bobby and Carol Davis, Jean Webb and Jimmy Woods. He was survived by sister-in-law, Donna Munnerlyn and Carolyn Warren. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Zachary Davis; sisters, Ina Mae Woods and Julia Doscher; brothers, Leonard Sullivan and John L. Sullivan. The family request in lieu of flowers donations to Children are a Gift Foundation in Tyler, Texas or the charity of your choice. Visitation will be after the service at the Frist Baptist Church in Hawkins.
